Do not be deceived! |
Do not be deceived! This WILL NOT adapt a iPhone compatible (4 pole) headset to use with a 2.5mm jack. This adapter simply goes from 3.5mm to 2.5mm with NO changes.
Typically 2.5mm sockets require different pinouts. [...].
This adapter will merely mirror what your 3.5mm jack does. If you use it with an iPhone headset which splits the standard ground line into ground and mic, these will be shorted causing the mic not to work at all. In the truest sense of the word, this is not an adapter, but a converter. |

Relatively Useless |

The adapter slighlty worked when it was pushed in all off the way, but that was still staticky and only out of one ear. I wouldn't suggest anyone ever think of purchasing this product. |

Doesn't fit in many jacks |
The flat design of the connectors mean that you must have a perfectly flat jack on your phone for this to fully insert.
Worthless for my Centro.
The similar adapter from Radio Shack is also not terribly useful given that I only get right-side audio but that's good enough for running or cycling where I leave one earbud out so I can hear traffic coming from behind. |
